The 2007 NOFA was released in early March.
The NYC CCoC on the
Continuum of Care has 6 million dollars available to fund one new
Shelter Plus Care Project in NYC that meets the NYC CCoC priorities
and serving 100% chronically homeless. A
And approximately
$330,330 available to fund a new Shelter Plus Care Project that
meets the NYC CCoC priorities.
A training is being
held Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at CUCS, 120 Wall Street, 1st Floor
Conference Room, New York, NY from 1:00 pm to 2:00pm to review the
guidelines for submission.
To be eligible for
Continuum of Care funding, new applicants must propose Shelter Plus Care
projects that provide new beds or units for homeless people
who are members of at least one of the priority populations.
Additionally, the 6 million dollar “bonus” project must commit 100% of
its HUD units to chronically homeless people as defined by HUD.
Eligible uses of
Shelter Plus Care CofC funds for new projects serving homeless adults
with disabilities and their families is rental assistance in one of the
following methods: tenant based rental assistance (TRA),
sponsor-based rental assistance (SRA), Project Based Rental Assistance (PBA),
(PRAR) Project-Based Rental Assistance with Rehabilitation, SRO based
rental assistance (SRO),
or
Section 8 SRO
